A prayer for Sweden

As Sweden is celebrating another national day, we pray that God would spread His wings across this land and protect it from harm. Like the latter rain, may the joy of the Lord be poured out all over the country. Let the light of God shine and cause darkness to disappear, may the blessing of the Lord shine forth and brighten the future of the youth of this nation. May those who plot evil schemes against this country be remembered no more. We pray that power be released to the weak, wisdom to the young, strength to the old, and the knowledge and reverence of the Lord be given to all. We ask that mouths will be filled with laughter and hearts with gladness for the Lord will heal His land from the plagues of anxiety and depression. May the Lord prosper Sweden and increase its wealth, granting it the favor to stand out amongst the nations of the earth, such that other nations would glorify the name of the Lord because of Sweden. Most importantly, we pray that the people of Sweden would remember their Lord, the God of ages, the One who is ever with them and who will continue to bless this beautiful country evermore. God bless Sweden. Amen!

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

1 Peter 2:9-10
