At least 30 dead in stampede in India

At least 30 people are said to have died and more than 60 injured in Uttar Pradesh, India, at the site of one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. The Kumbh Mela gatherings happen at the banks of the river Yamuna and Ganges, where Hindu devotees visit to take a “holy dip.” The event attracts more than 10 million people over the course of 6 days and this crowd swelling eventually resulted in the stampede of the visiting devotees.

Let’s Pray:

Father Lord, we pray and ask for the peace and comfort for the families of the ones affected by this tragedy. We ask for all the injured to fully recover and be healed in Your name. We pray that the light of Your Holiness covers and fills every Indian in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us
cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit,
perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Corinthians 7:1
