Comfort

A Psalm of Restoration and Indwelling

I
Enfold me, O Lord, in the warmth of Your embrace;
Let the comfort of Your salvation be my morning song.
Let the Almighty arise from His holy habitation
To rebuke the shadow of evil and revoke the curse upon our land.
II
Speak to the widow in the hour of her mourning:
“Weep no more, for the God of Israel has seen your grief.”
He shall wipe away the bitterness of every tear
And plant within the soul the delight of His salvation.
III
For the Most High dwells not in houses of hewn stone,
Nor is His glory confined to the curtains of the temple.
He has chosen a living sanctuary—the heart of man;
There He resides, in the secret place of our spirit.
IV
Grant us Your love, O Lord, as a firm foundation;
Uphold us with the support of Your righteous hand.
For mercy is the light within Your holy eyes,
And in Your sight, the humble find the favor of kings.
V
May the Lord roll away the stone of your reproach;
As He remembers His covenant, so may He remember you.
May His grace be a shelter over your head,
And His peace a guardian within your gates.
VI
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
Let the peace of the God of Israel pour upon your household now and forever.
Selah.

The God who dwells within. We often look for God in great buildings or far-off places, but this Psalm reminds us of a profound truth: “God does not reside in the temple; God resides within our hearts.” If you are carrying a “reproach” or a secret grief today—if you feel like the widow in the valley of tears—know that the God of the Universe is arising from His holy place specifically for you. He isn’t just watching from a distance; He is offering the warmth of His embrace to revoke every curse and replace it with the joy of salvation.

“May His peace be within your household now and always.”
