Armed gangs stormed Haiti’s two major prisons in the capital city of Port-au-Prince and Croix des Bouquets, killing 12 people and liberating 3700 inmates. The violent gangs now which control around 80% of the capital city are threatening to oust the current government. Many of the escapees were convicted for the killing of the President Jovenel Moïse in 2021. A 72-hour curfew has been imposed following this.
Let’s Pray:
Lord, we pray for peace to prevail in the hearts of each of the gang members in Haiti. We pray for peaceful resolution to this problem without the shedding of innocent blood. We ask for wisdom and godly counsel to fill the heart of the leaders. In Jesus’ name, amen.
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
