Jesus who is the Son of God humbled Himself, embracing a lower position, a servant with no reputation. Be yourself! Avoid the trap of trying to fit into everyone else’s mold or comparing yourself to others. John the Baptist recognized his role, humbling himself before Jesus, declaring, “It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose” (John 1:27). It is God’s desire that we find contentment in who He has created us to be, as we are all fearfully and wonderfully made, uniquely special in His eyes, set apart for a great purpose. The Father loves us unconditionally, regardless of our backgrounds or pasts. In His presence, we are treasured like the apple of His eye, precious and beautiful like a dove. O Lord, guide me! Help me to embrace my true self and approach You just as I am.
“who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.”
~Philippians 2:6-7 NKJV
