Pakistan has been struck by flash floods that killed nearly 200 people.

Heavy monsoon floods and landslides in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir have killed at least 194 people in the last 24 hours. The majority of the deaths, 180, were in the mountainous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where at least 30 homes were destroyed. A rescue helicopter also crashed during operations, killing its five crew members.

Let’s Pray:

Abba Father, we lift our eyes to You, for from You we receive help in our time of need. In this tragic hour that has befallen Pakistan, we plead for Your mercy. We pray for the souls who have departed, that they may find rest and peace in You. We also pray for comfort and a quick recovery for all who have been injured and affected by the flood. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention. Speak Your word to cease the flooding and protect this land from any future natural disasters. Support the rescuers and aid this entire nation in its hour of calamity. Take control of the climate, for You alone have power over the wind and authority over the waters. Let this country be safe and secure, so people may live without fear. Thank You, Lord, for Your love and compassion, and for calming this situation with Your peace. We entrust the care of all lives in Your hands. May the Lord be praised over the nation of Pakistan now and forever. Amen.

“And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”
