Wildfires in Portugal

The heatwave in Portugal has caused a wildfire that engulfed 6700 hectares. Around 800 firefighters tackled the fire on Monday, among them 9 were injured on duty. Over 1400 people from 19 villages, 4 tourist accommodations, and a camping site have been evacuated.

Let’s Pray:

Lord, You are the Creator of heaven and earth and everything in it. We believe that what happened in Portugal and the Iberian peninsula hasn’t escaped Your attention. We ask for Your mercy for the people who had to escape; bring them back to their homes. We also pray for the injured firefighters. May You heal and restore them completely. Pour out Your rain upon this land, O Lord, and let them all see Your mighty power, glory, and salvation that is only in Jesus. In Your name we pray. Amen.

“O God, when You went out before Your people, When You marched through the wilderness, Selah The earth shook; The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God; Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. You, O God, sent a plentiful rain, Whereby You confirmed Your inheritance, When it was weary.”

Psalms‬ ‭68‬:‭7‬-‭9
