“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”
Romans 5:8-11
First and foremost, let’s thank God for the gift of salvation. We thank God for His gracious love and mercy; He gave us Jesus Christ, so we will not perish but have eternal life with Him and in Him. He who knew no sin was made sin and died on our behalf, so we who were supposed to die as His enemies can now live as His children, having access to His presence and riches, not only in this life but also in the life after death.
Let’s pray:
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for what You have done on the cross. You paid my debt when I was still Your enemy to restore my relationship with the Father. You also conquered death and rose again, so I can also have life in You. As if it were not enough, You are preparing a place for me so that wherever You are, there I will also be. Thank You, for it is only Your grace that saved me. I do not deserve this gift, but I thank You that You offered it to me. I humbly bow down before You with no other words but “thank You, Jesus, my Lord and Savior”. Amen.
