I
Blessed is the day of my deliverance, when the curse is broken, and the veil is torn apart;
Blessed is the hour I stepped from the cavern of darkness into the brilliance of His light.
Though there is sorrow for those who hang upon the tree,
Yet do I rejoice in the Holy Wood where my Savior bled for me.
II
He bore the weight of my ancient shame; He took the curse as His own garment.
Upon the Cross, the debt was settled; by His wounds, the prisoner was set free.
I give thanks for the day of my birth into this world,
But I cherish above all the day I was born again in Him.
III
O the moment of surrender! When I laid my life at the feet of the King;
To meet the Lord is a treasure more precious than rubies or hidden gold.
With a steadfast heart, I confess the Mystery of the Three in One:
The Father of Lights, the Son of Grace, and the Spirit of Truth.
IV
I find my life in the Holy Bread and my strength in the Sacred Cup;
For the Lord is a Refuge to the weary and a Fortress to the faint of heart.
He shall lead us through the wilderness with a pillar of leaping fire,
And the night shall be as the day before us.
V
The mighty hand of the Most High is a wall of brass around our dwellings;
He forbids the darkness to enter and commands the plague to pass us by.
His eyes are as a watchful cloud, a canopy of shade in the heat of the day,
Shielding the innocent from the snare and the faithful from the arrow.
VI
When the drums of war resound and the days grow heavy with trouble,
He shall be our Deliverer, snatching us from the mouth of the lion.
He brings us through the deep waters and sets our feet upon the rock.
Praise be to the Lord, our Shield and our Eternal Song!
I truly desire that people and nations may remember Your good deeds,
And forget not all Your privileges for the saints!
Bless this day and all days to come, O Lord, my Redeemer. Amen.
