Day 3: A Prayer to Enlarge Your Territory

Only God can enlarge a man’s territory. When Jabez prayed, “and enlarge my territory,” he wasn’t just making a request; he was praying with the understanding of a child of God. He knew his Heavenly Father owns the heavens and the earth, and that nothing is impossible for Him. His prayer echoed God’s own promise to Abraham—a promise of becoming a great nation—and the decree in Psalm 2:8, “Ask of me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance.”

Don’t limit your vision. Just as a tent is expanded, so too can your life be. Enlarge your territory in every sense of the word of God. Seek a spiritual life with a greater capacity, allowing God to enlighten your understanding and fill you with wisdom and favor. Strive to possess more than you can imagine—not just in material wealth like gold and silver, but in the boundless joy and multiplying peace that only God can provide. Believe that the Lord will bless you with such abundance that there will be no room to contain it, and you will exceedingly be glad forever. ‘’Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,  to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.’’ Ephesians 3:20-21

This desire to expand and have dominion is part of God’s original plan for us. He wants us to be fruitful, to multiply, and to exercise authority over all He has created. Jabez understood this because he had served the Lord faithfully.

Prayer Focus: Ask God to enlarge your capacity and scope. Speak your request for greater knowledge and understanding, a larger platform for your work, or a deeper impact in your relationships. Believe that you are entitled to this expansion.

Daily Prayer: Almighty God, enlarge my territory! I pray for expansion in my capacity, my understanding, and the scope of my influence. Remove all limits from my vision and grant me the wisdom and resources to possess more than I can imagine for Your glory. Amen.

Bible Verse:

  • “And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.” I Chronicles‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬
  • “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:1-4
  • “I will declare the [g]decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8 Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.’’ -Psalm 2:7-8
  • “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that [a]moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28
  • “Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!’’ -Matthew 7:9-11
