Day 4: The Mighty Hand of God

Jabez’s prayer, “that Your hand would be with me,” was a profound request for divine empowerment and protection. He understood that the hand of the Lord is mighty and brings strength, as it did for Elijah, who was empowered to outrun a horse. It brings new vision and insight, just as it did for Ezekiel that the spirit of the Lord came upon him and he prophesied to the dry bones. God’s hand provides guidance and leadership, preserving us in all our ways. The Lord’s hand is not too short to save, nor is His ear too heavy to hear. He can save and redeem us from trouble. “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:”Isaiah 59:1

The hand of God is also a hand of healing and miracles. Jesus laid His hands on the sick, and they were healed—the blind saw, the deaf heard, and the lame walked. He promised His followers that they, too, would lay hands on the sick, and they would recover.

When you pray for God’s hand to be upon you, you are asking to become an instrument for His work, where signs, wonders, and miracles can occur. You are also praying for a shield of protection from all harm and danger. When God’s hand comes upon you, fear will be cast away and the enemy will be driven from you. It is better for someone to be an instrument in the hand of God rather than to become an instrument in the hand of the devil. Defend yourself against the devil’s tricks.

Prayer Focus: Ask for the hand of God to come upon you for healing and strength. Pray for His hand to establish the work of your hands and to cover your household. Ask for a shield of protection from all harm and danger.

Daily Prayer: Lord, I pray for Your mighty hand to be upon me. Uphold me with Your righteous right hand, bringing healing, strength, and guidance. Establish the work of my hands and make me an instrument for Your signs and wonders. Cast away all fear, O God. Amen.
