A man and a toddler were fatally stabbed in a park in Aschaffenburg, Germany, south-east of Frankfurt. The toddler, a 2-year old boy, was part of a kindergarten group taking a stroll through the park and the 41-year old man was killed when trying to intervene in the attack. The attacker, an 28-year old Afghan refugee-seeker who was to be deported after a failed asylum plea is now said to be under police custody. This attack is one of the series of fatal stabbings in Germany in the recent months.
