“Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out. At the Lord’s command they encamped, and at the Lord’s command they set out. They obeyed the Lord’s order, in accordance with his command through Moses.”
Numbers 9:22-23
God is such a meticulous and particular God. He sets the whole universe in order. Times and seasons are in His hands. He knows what has happened, is happening, and will happen. Not only in our individual lives, but also in the lives of others and in the world around us. Nothing surprises Him, and He holds the whole world in His hands.
Before such a God, what seems to us as simply seasons of long waiting. God may allow other things to take place according to His will. At the same time, it may be a time to prepare ourselves while everything else is being aligned. So when the right time comes, all the parts and pieces have all been well aligned to fall into the right place. Even then, God has arranged how we are supposed to take our actions. He has given us instructions on how to take out the tabernacle, move out, travel, and put everything back, where He wants us to stay (Numbers 10:11-28). So that we just need to obey and follow them.
Let’s pray that none of us will miss His perfect timing. Let’s ask for discerning ears to hear the sound of the trumpets and understand what it means (Numbers 10:1-7), opened eyes to see the cloud moving, and an obedient heart to follow the clouds leading. Let’s not allow our comforts, conveniences, duration’s, or experiences during this waiting, or anything else to hinder us from moving forward. Or the other way around, let’s not hastily move when He doesn’t call us to. Let our every step be ordered by the Lord Himself, who knows the end from the beginning. Amen.
