The biggest fire in the nation’s history has killed 112 people in the coastal country of Chile in South America, with the death toll set to rise. More than 1400 firefighters and military personnel are working to control the fire, which is still spreading. The fire has killed many old people in El Olivar who were not able to get out. Also, the town of Valparaíso (116 km from the capital Santiago) which is affected by the fires, is a prominent tourist destination in the summer.
Let’s Pray:
Father, we ask for Your mercies and divine protection upon the people of Chile at this time. We ask for Your protection and grace to overshadow them and rescue them from every danger. Help the weak and defenseless in these times, O’Lord, our merciful Father. We ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
“He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.”
II Samuel 22:17-20
