Habakkuk 3:14–15 is a masterpiece of Poetic Justice. It shows God using the enemy’s own weapons against them. While the enemy thinks they are a “whirlwind” of destruction, God is the “Rider of the Sea” who is completely unbothered by the “heap” of waters. The prayer is a Declaration of Sovereign Safety. You are moving from the position of the “prey” to the position of the “protected.” By focusing on the “horses” of God walking through the sea, you are acknowledging that God has a path for you where there currently seems to be no ground to stand on.
Let’s Pray
Lord Almighty, You are the Peace of Heaven and the King of Glory. I stand on Your Word that You thrust through the enemy with his own arrows. I ask that every scheme designed for my downfall would backfire today. Let Your Spirit scatter those who come against me like a whirlwind. Confound the head who troubles me and let their secret plots against the vulnerable be turned to shame. Lord, You see those who rejoice in secret over the oppression of the poor. I ask You to taint their “feast” with bitterness and bring their wicked works to nothing. Break their arrows into pieces and expose their hidden devices so that I am never unaware of their plans. Visit their strongholds with Your purifying fire and let their prideful joy be turned into repentance or defeat. You are the God who walks through the sea with Your horses, making a way through the heap of great waters. When the waves of chaos rise around me, do not let me drown. Lift my head above the flood of my challenges and lead me through the storm. Just as You rescued Israel from the pursuing army, rescue my life from turmoil and give me the victory. I thank You for defeating my enemies and making me an overcomer. Your dominion is eternal, and Your peace is my shield. I praise You for the victory that is already mine through Your mighty power. In the holy name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

“You thrust through with his own arrows The head of his villages. They came out like a whirlwind to scatter me; Their rejoicing was like feasting on the poor in secret. You walked through the sea with Your horses, Through the heap of great waters.”
