Help, Lord

We have no one to run or turn to but Thee
Heavenly Father, have mercy on us!
If not from You, our only helper, where would we find help?
Like the morning dew, let the wicked vanish
and satisfy the righteous with long lives.
As we are Your beloved children,
do not cast us away from Your light,
that darkness may not overcome us.

Come to our rescue, we cry, Abba Father!
All the doors of help have shut against us,
Our bowls have no food, and our cups have no water.
Our houses abound in agony and torments,
When it rains, our homes are flooded,
and our cities are destroyed by the water.

Draw near to us and bear our pains and sufferings.
It is our hope that Your lovingkindness will restore our peace.
As we are surrounded by conflicts in our land, do not abandon us,
Don’t let the gates of hell prevail against your children.

Let Your mercy spring forth and make our hearts leap for joy.
Because of Your goodness,
we will sing praises to You all of our days,
and we will glorify You forever and ever.

Have You kept Your favor away from us, O God?
Are You not gracious and full of compassion?
Will you let the wicked triumph? Will You allow the feeble to be crushed?
Make haste to help, Lord, for our hope is in You alone.
