Ruth 1:10–12 captures a crisis of faith. Naomi was trying to be kind by being “realistic,” but she was viewing the future through the lens of her own ability. This prayer is your Declaration of Defiance against hopelessness, choosing to believe that God’s plan is bigger than your current losses. Naomi asked her daughters-in-law, “Why will you go with me?” It is a question of motive. Today, remind yourself why you follow Christ. Is it for what He can give you, or is it because He is the only source of Life? Naomi argued from a place of “facts”—she was too old, and there were no sons. Faith, however, argues from the nature of God. When your circumstances say “it’s impossible,” let your spirit respond with “God is able.” The world will always provide a logical reason to return to your “Moab.” Like Naomi’s daughters-in-law, you will be tested with the invitation to quit. Stand firm in your resolve; your Bethlehem is worth the journey.
Let’s Pray
Lord Jesus, where else could I place my hope but in You? You alone have the words of eternal life. Like the disciples who stayed when others walked away, I have made up my mind to follow You, and there is no turning back (John 6:66-69). Holy Lord, You are the Savior of the world, and through Your salvation, we have hope. I ask for the grace to come closer to You and the strength to stay the course all my days. Do not let me stray or drift from Your presence, but ignite a desire in my heart that keeps me moving forward. Father, I refuse to look back at the things You have rescued me from (Genesis 19:26). Even when human logic says it is “too late” or when hope seems shattered, I trust that all things are possible with You (Matthew 19:26). You are the God who opened the wombs of Sarah, Elizabeth, and Hannah and Rachel; You are never limited by time or age. I lift my eyes to You, the God of my salvation, trusting that You have the power to fulfill every promise You have placed in my heart. Lord, I desire to walk as You walk, pray as You pray, and live as You live. Lead me along Your righteous path and preserve my life from the distractions that would cause me to falter. I am hidden in You, and my hope is anchored in Your unfailing Word. I believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God (Matthew 16:15-16). To You be the glory, honor, and power now and forevermore. In the name of my Savior, Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

“And they said to her, “Surely we will return with you to your people.” But Naomi said, “Turn back, my daughters; why will you go with me? Are there still sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands? Turn back, my daughters, go—for I am too old to have a husband. If I should say I have hope, if I should have a husband tonight and should also bear sons,”
