Habakkuk 3 is a Shigionoth—a wild, emotional song of praise. Habakkuk has stopped questioning God and has started remembering God. He realizes that if God did it for Moses and Elijah, He can do it again for us. This prayer captures the Urgency of the Present. You aren’t just looking at the history of salvation; you are asking God to bring the “Azusa Street” and “Early Church” power into 2026. You are acknowledging that while the “years” can feel long and weary, God is the Lord of the Midst. He meets us right in the middle of our struggle to bring revival.
Let’s Pray
O God, Ancient of Days, how magnificent is Your name! I have heard the reports of Your speech and Your ancient works, and I am in awe. You are the God who split the Red Sea and restored the fortunes of Job. You are the Jehovah-Rapha who healed the lame, the blind, and the mute. My heart trembles at Your greatness, for Your power is beyond understanding. O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of these years! Do not let Your mighty deeds be only stories of the past; reveal them in our day. We need faith to believe the impossible. Come, Lord, and heal the sick, rebuild our devastated cities, and restore what has been broken. With the same resurrection power that raised Christ, make all things new. Make a way in our wilderness and streams in our wasteland. Send down Heaven’s dew and pour out Your Spirit upon us. Ignite a spiritual fire in our hearts, breathe life into dry bones, and bring Your divine vision to pass. Let Your Holy Spirit dwell within us, making our hearts Your sanctuary and Your temple. Cleanse us and sanctify us, that we may be a people set apart for Your glory. In the midst of the years, make Your salvation known. In Your wrath, remember mercy. Hold back Your judgment and show Your boundless compassion to the poor and the brokenhearted. We wait in eager anticipation for a revival that turns hearts back to You, so that all the earth may see Your deeds and believe and return to our first love wholeheartedly. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
