India-Pakistan tensions flare

After last month’s terrorist attack on Indian soil, which left 26 people dead. India finally retaliated by bombing 9 terrorist bases – a little after Wednesday midnight. Pakistan is known for harboring Islamic terrorists on its soil, with even claims of the Pakistani military aiding it in certain cases. India which alleges the involvement of the Islamic terrorist outfit group Lakshar-e-Taliba for April 22nd’s attack – which largely operates from its base on Pakistani soil and infiltrates the northern mountainous borders to perpetrate its attacks against the Indian army, and in this instance even against innocent civilians. The latest attack is said to have left 25 dead and 46 injured on the Pakistani side. With Pakistan having retaliated with mortar shelling of villages near the Indian border – which has left 15 Indians dead and many more injured. The UN and the U.S. have called for exercise of restraint by both nations and prevent further escalation of the tensions between these nuclear-armed nations.

Let’s Pray:

Father Lord, we ask for the comfort and peace in the broken hearts of those affected by these recent violence. We ask that every spirit of confusion, hatred and enmity between the nations be dispelled in Jesus name and that Your wisdom, counsel and peace prevail instead. We pray for the protection of the innocents who are vulnerable during these attacks. We ask that both nations find their way to the one Savior of the world. In Jesus name, Amen.

And He will judge between the nations,
And will render decisions for many peoples;
And they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not lift up sword against nation,
And never again will they learn war.

Isaiah 2:4
