Ruth 4:4 marks The Willingness of the Redeemer. It highlights the contrast between earthly options that fail under pressure and the unwavering commitment of a true redeemer. This prayer is your Altar of Absolute Ransom, celebrating that Jesus did not hesitate or shrink back from paying the ultimate price to claim you and I as His own forever. Boaz presented the choice clearly to the nearest kin: “If you will redeem it, redeem it.” Under Biblical law, only a qualified, willing relative with sufficient resources could redeem what was lost. Jesus became fully human to become our true Kinsman-Redeemer, legally qualified to buy us back. While the first relative initially agreed to buy the land (“I will redeem it”), he ultimately backed out when he realized the cost involved (Ruth 4:6). Jesus never backed out. Knowing the full, brutal cost of our salvation, He willingly went to the cross and declared, “It is finished.” Isaiah 52:3 reminds us, “You have sold yourselves for nothing, and you shall be redeemed without money.” You cannot earn, buy, or achieve your salvation or restoration—it is a gift paid in full through grace by the great Redeemer. There is no Redeemer like Jesus.
Let’s Pray
O precious Lamb of God, spotless, holy, and righteous! My Redeemer lives, and no one is like Him. I was once bound to sin and helpless to save myself, but Jesus Christ redeemed me—not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with His own precious, sinless blood shed upon the cross (1 Peter 1:18–19). You took my place, bore the curse of the law, and paid the debt I could never afford (Galatians 3:13–14). Into Your hands, LORD, I commit my spirit, praising You for the grace that bought my freedom and restored my soul (Psalm 31:5). Father, I thank You that the year of Your redeemed has come (Isaiah 63:4-5)! Where human strength failed, and no earthly help could be found, Your arm brought salvation. Just as Boaz stood ready to claim the duty of redemption, Jesus stepped forward to reclaim my life, my health, my family, and my inheritance from the hands of the enemy. You have broken every curse of lack and condemnation, transforming my dry seasons into a well-watered garden overflowing with joy, blessings, and divine favor (Jeremiah 31:11-12). Lord Jesus, because I have been bought at a supreme price without money, I dedicate my body, my heart, and my daily steps to honor You. My lips will sing of Your faithfulness, O God, and my tongue will speak of Your righteousness all day long (Psalm 71:22-24). O God, guard my life, sustain my faith, and let my testimony shine as a beacon of Your redeeming love to everyone around me. I have been forgiven, redeemed by the blood, freed from every curse, and walking in the fullness of His restoration and power forever. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
