The world tells you to follow your heart, do what you think is best. The Bible says that the heart is deceitful, and God does great things beyond our understanding. Your Maker knows you better than yourself. His plans are beyond yours. So whom will you follow today, your own thoughts or God?
Let’s Pray:
Lord, I know I am wonderfully and fearfully made by You, yet I cry aloud to You to save me from every addiction – porn, sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling, and smoking – that wants to ruin and reshape my life into something else. Father, save me from any spirit of addiction. For the rest of my life, I don’t want to live with an incurable disease. Lord, please, have mercy and deliver me from the temptation that wants to lead me back to the old life You have saved me from. In Jesus’ mighty name, I ask. Amen.
“When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath”
John 5:6, 8-9
