 Search Me, O God!

Let’s Pray

Father Lord, I lift up Your holy name. You are the God of all flesh, the one who sees what is done in secret and brings it into the light. I acknowledge that nothing is hidden from Your sight. Just as the lot fell on Jonah, I ask You to search my life. If I am the cause of trouble, if my disobedience has brought a storm upon those around me, I seek Your mercy and the remission of my sins today. Lord, I confess that my choices have sometimes caused suffering to others. I am weary of being a burden to my “ship.” Just as You bore my curse and shame on the cross, I cast the weight of my consequences on You. Forgive my transgressions and remove the “lot” of judgment from my life. Like Jabez, I pray that Your hand would be with me, keeping me from evil so that I might not cause pain to others or myself (1 Chronicles 4:10). Look upon me and my household, Lord. Just as You heard the cries of Israel in Egypt and honored Your covenant (Exodus 2:24-25), hear my cry today. Save me and everyone on my “ship” so that we do not sink under the weight of my mistakes. Let us instead witness Your glory and praise Your power. Lessen the punishment I deserve and replace the curse with Your boundless grace. To You alone be honor, glory, and dominion forever. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Amen.

“And they said to one another, “Come, let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this trouble has come upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.”

‭‭ Jonah‬ ‭1‬:‭7 ‭NKJV‬‬
