Praise is a Joy

My soul cries out, “How can I rejoice in grief?”
But is it not the Lord’s joy that brings us relief.
Come, let all the earth rejoice in its Maker,
And all who dwell within it find strength in their Creator.

O praise the Lord, whose power stands alone,
He multiplies Israel, a great nation.
The universe rests in His provident hand,
He rides on the clouds across the sky’s span.

His glory covers the heavens like a sea,
And His presence brings nothing but joy to us.
For Your thoughts towards us are beautiful and true,
A loving purpose in all that You do.

Let birds in the sky honor You with their wings,
Let the mighty sea roar in praise of Your awesome name.
Let the trees clap their leaves to magnify You,
O magnify the Lord, in all that you do.

Let the tribes of Israel, with music praise the LORD,
Fill the Lord’s house all you His saints.
With cymbals and harps and strings, sing praises to His holy name,
Worshiping the Creator of the whole earth.

Come, let us worship the LORD on high,
Let neighbor call neighbor as the praises fly.
Till the sound of our voice is heard everywhere.
O let my soul rejoice in the Lord forever and ever, a joyful praise. Amen!
