The story of the fig tree that Jesus cursed could be interpreted like this: Soon, the Lord who is the great harvester shall come as the time of harvest is near. When He comes, those that don’t bear good fruit and do not serve Him in spirit and in truth will have no place in the kingdom of God that will be established. May we not be empty vessels, saying that we have faith but the spirit of God is not in us. Let’s keep the faith and walk in the spirit of God.
“And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: and seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.”
