Ruth 2:1 is the Turning of the Tide. It introduces the human instrument of God’s providence just as the two women are hitting rock bottom. This prayer is your Altar of Divine Expectation, declaring that the Provider is already in the field, and your season of lack is subject to change at any moment. Ruth and Naomi were sitting in a house with empty cupboards, entirely unaware that a man named Boaz—someone with the legal power and financial means to save them—was living just down the street. When you look at your deficits today, remember that God already has a “Boaz” (a solution, a provider, or an open door) positioned in your tomorrow. Boaz is a typology and a shadow of Jesus Christ. He was a relative (he identified with their humanity), and he was a man of great wealth (he had the power to rescue them). Jesus did the exact same thing for us by stepping into our world to redeem our bankrupt lives. The scripture defines Boaz not just by his wallet, but by his alignment with the family of Elimelech. True wealth is always tied to a covenant relationship. Today, anchor your security in your relationship with Jesus rather than your bank account.

Let’s Pray

O Lord, my Redeemer and Provider, You are the Creator of all things, and the silver, the gold, and the world’s fullness thereof belong entirely to You (Haggai 2:8). I thank You for the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: though You were rich, for my sake You became poor, so that through Your poverty I might become truly rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). I declare that You are my ultimate treasure, and where my treasure is, there my heart will be also (Matthew 6:21). Father, save me from the trap of loving money, which is the root of all evil. Let money never be my master (1 Timothy 6:10); You alone are my God. Forgive me for the times I have mismanaged Your blessings, and protect my heart from pride (Proverbs 16:18). Remind me always that it is You who gives the power to get wealth to establish Your covenant (Deuteronomy 8:18). Like Job, help me to remain blameless, fearing You, shunning evil, and honoring You with my possessions and the firstfruits of my increase (Job 1:1-3). Lord Jesus, You came that I might have an abundant life, and You promise to supply all my needs according to Your glorious riches (Philippians 4:19). I rest in Your promise that Your blessing makes one rich and adds no sorrow with it (Proverbs 10:22). Grant me the grace to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that everything else will be added to me (Matthew 6:33). Let Your Word dwell richly within me day and night, guiding my steps toward true prosperity, health, and spiritual success. My trust is not in uncertain riches, but in the living God who richly provides all things for me to enjoy. In Your great and matchless name, Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
