Where are you, God?

Dear God, I cry unto You in the midst of my distress
Come to my rescue, do not delay.

Though I have never seen Your face,
heard the sound of Your voice,
Nor walked through the golden streets of Your heavenly dwelling,
One thing that I know, and that I am certain of
Is that You are almighty and lifted high.
You call forth light out of darkness,
And create everything out of nothing.

Therefore, my God, do not hide Your face from me,
do not cast me away from Your presence,
Do not close Your ears to my cry,
Come forth and help me!

How long shall I continue to live my life
like a chase after the wind which yields to nothing?
I have sowed multiple times
Yet when the season of harvest comes, I reap nothing.
Lord, cover me with the riches of Your glory,
that I might live the abundant life You promised to my forefathers
Long before my generation was born.

I seek refuge and comfort from no one else but You, Lord
May the praise of Your name never depart from my lips !
