Day 18: Discover and perfect our gifts

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.  And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all”

I Corinthians 12:4-7

In our body, the head or more specifically the brain is the part that tells the other parts of the body to move. Similarly, as the body of Christ, the Church is commissioned to do the works that Jesus, its head, wants it to do. For this purpose, the Holy Spirit has equipped us with various spiritual gifts as He pleases because He knows what is necessary to serve one another, both inside and outside the church. As we have received these gifts, how else could we respond besides giving God thanks and using those gifts to serve Him and others?

Let’s pray:
Holy Spirit, I want to thank You for all the gifts You have given us, Your Church. Thank You for Your generosity, as I know it is not because of our own capabilities but because You know what is best and necessary for each one of us. Thank You for the opportunity and strength to put these gifts at work, especially in Your body. I give You all the glory, and I desire to use these gifts to glorify Your name. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
