Day 31: Peace, joy, and other spiritual blessings

“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”

Ephesians 1:2-6

If you stay in a fancy hotel, besides getting access to the room you booked, you will get access to many other facilities in the hotel. For example, the gym, sauna, breakfast buffet etc. You can also enjoy everything that is available in those facilities, for example, gym equipment, shower gels, towels, slippers, hair dryers, etc. You cannot bring them home, but you are free to use them throughout your stay in the hotel. Similarly, once we receive Jesus Christ, we are adopted to be God’s children and become members of His family. As if salvation were not enough, we also get access to all spiritual blessings He has prepared for us in His kingdom! The things included in His Kingdom are endless: righteousness, peace, joy, love, favor, grace, and many others; more than what we can number or comprehend. How can we not thank Him for those?

Let’s pray:
God, I want to thank You today for all the spiritual blessings You have poured out to me. Thank You for choosing me to be Your child and letting me enjoy Your grace, peace, joy, love, favor, and many other blessings beyond my understanding and that I am yet to discover. I know that I do not deserve, nor did I earn any of these, but it is by Your grace that I have access to them. Thank You for being pleased to choose me, according to Your will. Today I worship, glorify, and praise You, O Lord Jesus. Amen.
