Now you are no longer under slavery. You are free, in Jesus’ name.
Congratulations on your deliverance!
The freedom that we have today was bought with a high price; Jesus paid it with His own blood on the cross (Galatians 3:13). He knew that we wouldn’t be able to pay this price ourselves, so He gave it to us for free (Ephesians 2:8). Therefore, as a free person in Christ, let’s thank the One who has generously paid our ransom and given us this precious gift of freedom: Jesus Christ. Today we want to invite you to reflect upon your life and remember every bondage He has broken, every healing you have received, and every battle you have won in Him (Psalm 103:1-4). Write them down on a piece of paper or your daily journal, as many as you can recall. Let today be the day when you see this list and are thankful for everything He has done for you, generously and lovingly.
When God delivered Hannah from the shame of being barren, she brought Samuel to the Lord and worshiped Him, saying, “My heart rejoices in the Lord; in the Lord my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance. There is no one holy like the Lord; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.” (1 Samuel 2:1-2). That day Hannah realized who she was and who God really is. She knew that there is no one else like Him. He is the Rock for those who are weak and stands against the arrogant ones (1 Samuel 2:3). He set the foundations of the earth (1 Samuel 2:8). Like Hannah, remind yourself that you are merely a recipient of God’s grace and lovingkindness, and you rely on His favor and mercy every day. Remember who God really is, and that in His greatness and might, He didn’t owe us anything, yet He is eager to deliver us when we cry for help because of His great love for us (Romans 11:35-36). What kind of response can you give to such a God besides loving and worshiping Him with your whole being? He alone deserves all our thanksgiving, worship, glory and honor!
Let’s pray:
Lord Jesus, I want to thank You for the freedom You have given me. Thank you for paying the price with Your own blood so that I can be set free. Thank You for delivering me out of every bondage so that I can be free in You. I know that You didn’t need to do it, but I am so thankful that You did. I did not earn nor deserve your deliverance, but your overwhelming love and grace towards me carried me to the place of praise and freedom where I am standing right now. Today I just want to thank You and bless Your name, for You have done it all. You gave me a new life, and I am now more than a conqueror in you! Thank You, Lord Jesus. Receive my thanksgiving. Amen.
