“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?  If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.”

The presence of the Lord is glorious! In the Old Testament, His presence was marked by the Ark of the Covenant. It was placed in the Holy of Holies in Moses’ tent, David’s tabernacle, and finally in the temple built by Solomon. But since the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured out to Jesus’ disciples, and now the Spirit of God Himself dwells in us! everywhere we go, or more accurately, wherever His Spirit leads us, we carry His presence. Also, we can see His glory in all creation, for nature displays His glory. His presence is not only something we carry, but also something we can see in the whole universe, as we can see His signature in every creation around us. He is the Omnipresent God; He is not bound to any place and is above any dimension of time and place. He is Emmanuel: God with us. To such a God, what response do we have besides thanksgiving for the privilege of knowing Him and being His temple?

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
