Day 9: He is holy

Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord”

Hebrews 12:14

Is there any word that, when spoken, reminds you of something in particular. Maybe the word “desserts” reminds you of ice-cream or the word “fun” reminds you immediately of some activity. The word “holiness” reminds me of the Scripture above. The word “holiness” in the original Greek text means to be purified. The way to holiness is through the blood of Jesus alone, which I John 1:7 teaches us. God alone is Holy, for He alone is without sin. We are asked to pursue holiness in the passage above, which is to pursue God. As we grow closer to God, let us grow to hate what is sinful, love righteousness, and be washed in the blood of the Lamb.

Let’s pray:
Father, thank You for the blood of Jesus. Thank You for the reminder to be Holy. I ask for grace to pursue holiness in my mind, heart, words, and deeds each day. Thank You Jesus, for being the mark of Holiness that we can look towards. Thank You that we can also overcome temptations as You did here on this earth. Give us the power, Holy Spirit, to overcome and be made holy. In Jesus name, amen.
