Deadly Landslide in the Philippines

68 people have died and 51 people are still missing after the devastating landslides last Tuesday in the Davao de Oro province, Philippines. The landslide struck this gold-mining village on Tuesday night, after heavy rains loosened the mountainous mud and rocks, triggering the landslide. The Philippines has many mountains and hilly terrains and is more vulnerable to earthquakes, being in the ring of fire. An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 struck the province recently during the rescue efforts.

Let’s Pray:

Father Lord, please provide protection and comfort to the people affected by this event. We pray for divine protection around this region and the country of Philippines from all natural disasters. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Psalm 91:1-2
