Deadly Russian Overnight Drone and Missile Barrage on Ukraine

Russia launched a massive overnight assault on Ukraine, firing drones and ballistic missiles against multiple regions, including Kharkiv and Chernihiv. At least four civilians were killed, including a mother and her 10-year-old son, and tens of thousands of residents faced power outages after strikes damaged critical energy infrastructure and Naftogaz facilities. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted many of the drones and missiles, but the scale of the attack left communities shaken and vulnerable as winter continues.

Let’s Pray:

Sovereign Lord, You see every life endangered and every home left in darkness by violence and war. Today we lift up the people of Ukraine as they endure yet another night of fear, loss, and destruction. Comfort the families who are grieving loved ones, especially the relatives of the mother and child who were killed, and draw near to all who are traumatized by the constant threat of attack. Protect the vulnerable—the elderly, children, the sick, and those unable to flee—and provide warmth, shelter, and daily bread where infrastructure has been damaged. Strengthen medical workers, rescue teams, and local churches as they serve in exhausting and dangerous conditions; let them be instruments of Your compassion and hope. We pray for wisdom and restraint among leaders, that paths of de-escalation and just peace would open, and that hardened hearts would be softened by Your Spirit. Let Your light shine in the midst of this darkness and turn many hearts toward You, the Prince of Peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“He shall deliver you in six troubles, yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.”
