Earthquake in Tibet kills 126

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake, China’s highest in recent years, struck the mountainous region of Tibet near Everest. Around 126 have died with another 188 injured from the quake that happened this morning. Rescue workers are fighting against the clock to rescue those buried under rubble as tonight’s temperatures are expected to drop to below -16 degree Celsius (3.2F). Tibet lies at the foot of Everest separating China and Nepal and has been part of China, since its annexation in 1959.

Let’s Pray:

Father Lord, we pray and ask for the comfort of the grieving souls. We pray for the quick recovery of those still missing, that You would divinely lead the workers to their positions under all the rubble. We pray for the quick and complete recovery of the injured. We ask that every Tibetan would come to know the true light and peace of Jesus Christ. In Your precious name we pray, Amen.

“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.

Psalm 91:15
