How Our Obedience Honors God

Obedience to God may not benefit God directly, but it certainly benefits us. When we follow His commandments, we bring glory to Him. Think of a father with two children: he encourages both to attend school so they can be educated and secure a brighter future. One listens, goes to school, builds a good career, and becomes successful. Even as he secures great achievements and earns recognition under his own name, the success of the son becomes a powerful testament, ultimately redounding to the honor and glory of the father who guided him. Meanwhile, the other child disobeys, ending up like the prodigal son—his choices bring shame rather than praise. Similarly, our obedience or disobedience before God reflects in how we honor Him. Obeying His instructions not only benefits us but also glorifies Him. Look at Abraham: his simple, trusting obedience led to him becoming the father of all nations—a lineage that brought immense glory to God! Choose to live a life that glorifies Him! As Scripture says, “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). Your decision to heed His voice transforms your life into a masterpiece of praise and honor to our Father in heaven!

”By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.’’

‭‭Hebrews 11:8
