Law against LGBTQ in East African countries

The Kenyan parliament proposed to pass legislation against LGBTQ, following the example of Uganda several weeks ago. Under the proposed law, gay sex is punishable by at least 10 years of prison, with worst sanctions like death penalty if a minor or disabled person is involved. Tanzania and South Sudan are also preparing to pass a similar law, which marks an anti-LGBTQ movement across East Africa.

Let’s Pray:

Lord, we lift the leaders of these East African countries in prayer. We pray for boldness and courage so they will steadfastly continue doing only what is right; speaking Your word and walking in Your truth. We pray that you will give them strength so that they will not be swayed or discouraged by any pressure they may receive from their surroundings or LGBTQ communities. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

~1 Timothy 2:1-4
