Man shot dead over burning of Quran in Sweden

An Iraqi man living in Sweden, Salwan Momika, 38, was shot in his apartment last night at 23:11 local time (CET) in Södertälje, Stockholm. He sadly passed away the next morning at the local hospital. He was known to have been granted permission by the Swedish police to burn the Islamic holy book, Quran, outside Stockholm central mosque in 2023 in protest against Islam. Five people have so far been arrested by the police in connection with this case.

Let’s Pray:

Father Lord, we ask for the comfort of the family and friends of Momika. We pray to the God of Abraham, Issac and Moses that you would quell all violence and hatred in this land, that all people may continue to live in peace and dignity with one another. We ask God that You would shine the light of Your only Son, Jesus Christ, into the heart of every Swede, that they may be saved through Your perfect sacrifice and miraculous resurrection. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”

Matthew 5:9
