Those who have been through what you are going through will truly show empathy, but those who haven’t can only show sympathy. Jesus knows what it is to be heartbroken, betrayed, rejected, troubled, and distressed at heart, for He experienced the highest agony before He died for the sins of men. Therefore rely and trust in Him; He will give you the strength to overcome and will be with you through it all.
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Hebrews 4:15-16
