Relentless Russian Strikes Deepen Ukraine’s Winter Suffering

As the war in Ukraine enters its fourth year, repeated Russian attacks on electricity, heating, and water systems have left entire neighborhoods without basic services during extreme winter colds. Around 4 million people are now displaced inside and outside the country, forced to live in damaged homes, overcrowded shelters, or host communities strained by the prolonged conflict. Humanitarian agencies warn that without sustained support and protection, millions of civilians will remain trapped in a cycle of blackouts, freezing temperatures, and constant fear of new strikes.

Let’s Pray:

Lord Jesus, we bring before You the people of Ukraine who are facing yet another winter under bombardment, darkness, and bitter cold. You see every family huddled in basements, every elderly person shivering in unheated apartments, and every child who has forgotten what normal life feels like—have mercy on them. Stretch out Your hand to shield civilians from further attacks, to restore critical infrastructure, and to open safe corridors for aid, fuel, and repairs. Strengthen churches, humanitarian workers, and neighbors who are sharing food, blankets, and hope; empower them by Your Spirit to be light in the midst of deep darkness. Turn the hearts of leaders away from destruction and toward justice, repentance, and peace, and let many in Ukraine and Russia encounter You as the Prince of Peace and the true refuge of their souls. In Your mighty name, Jesus, Amen.

“He shall deliver you in six troubles, yes, in seven no evil shall touch you.”
