Severe Floods Displace Thousands in Thailand and Malaysia

Torrential monsoon rains have triggered severe flooding across parts of Thailand and Malaysia, forcing thousands of people to flee their homes as rivers overflow and roads are submerged. Authorities report that at least 11,000 people have been affected in Malaysia alone, with 60 temporary shelters opened to host families who were suddenly displaced by rising waters. Landslides linked to the prolonged heavy rain have also stranded hundreds in remote areas, complicating rescue efforts and raising concerns about further casualties and damage.

Let’s Pray:

Lord Jesus, we pray for the people of Thailand and Malaysia suffering from devastating floods. Our hearts go out to families in temporary shelters, those whose homes are submerged, and individuals stranded by damaged roads. Please have mercy on them, O God. Grant strength and wisdom to emergency workers and neighbors assisting those in need. Provide clean water, food, shelter, and medical care, and bring comfort to those worried about their future and livelihoods. May they find You as their refuge during this difficult time, and may Your peace and healing be felt throughout all affected regions. In Your mighty name, Jesus, Amen.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.

Isaiah 43:2a NKJV
