The greatest power isn’t found in what we know, but in who we trust. While knowledge provides us with information, it is wisdom that gives us true understanding. The Bible tells us that wisdom is the principal thing, and it is revealed to us by God, not simply gathered by our own efforts. ‘’In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a revelation was given to Daniel (who was called Belteshazzar). Its message was true and it concerned a great war. The understanding of the message came to him in a vision.’’ -Daniel 10:1.
The Gift of Understanding: Remember the prophet Daniel, a man who received a powerful revelation from God. He was given a vision that concerned a great war, but it was the understanding of the message that was the true gift. Daniel couldn’t have interpreted the revelation or the dreams given to him without God providing the insight. This is a powerful lesson for us all. Knowledge may come from what we see or hear, but true understanding—the kind that allows us to interpret our lives, our challenges, and our callings—comes directly from God. Just as Daniel sought and received divine understanding, so too can we. By turning to God, we can gain the clarity we need to navigate the visions and messages He gives us.
A knowledge of what is true leads to wisdom; therefore, the Bible tells us to seek wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. God created heaven and earth, is that not true? God made the sea and the dry land and everything therein through His divine wisdom, not by following a set of instructions. He spoke, and it was so. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.’’ Genesis 1:3. He created the visible world from the invisible, demonstrating a power far beyond our human ability to create from available materials. As the scriptures say, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11:3. And then continues, “Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” Psalm 127:1 Therefore, everyone who creates and builds does so through the knowledge of God.
What we call new discoveries are not truly new at all; they are simply the uncovering of things that God has already created and put in place. ‘’That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun’’ Ecclesiastes 1:9. These hidden things belong to God, and He reveals them to us in His own time. “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29
Ultimately, our focus should be on the unseen—the eternal. Our earthly treasures are temporary and can be stolen, but the treasures we store in heaven are eternal. “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18. God is the only true source of all wisdom and knowledge. In His infinite wisdom, God asks us to come to Him if we lack wisdom. ‘’If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind’ James 1:5-6 You may use this Bible verse to pray to be filled with the spirit of wisdom, knowledge, and might. ‘’The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.’ Isaiah 11:2 By fixing our eyes on God, we find true wisdom and a lasting home prepared for us by Jesus Christ. “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” John 14:2
God has a special place prepared for all who believe in Jesus Christ. If you haven’t yet, you can choose to follow Him today. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). All you need to do is believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. When you do, you are saved. You’ll receive the promise of eternal life and the joy of seeing Him on the last day. It’s a promise waiting for us. Pray this prayer of repentance from your heart.
Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, and that You died for my sins, and God is the creator of heaven and earth. Have mercy upon me according to Your lovingkindness. Blot out my transgressions and forgive all my sins. I believe in Your truth, Your Word, that whoever believes shall be saved and whoever You set free is free indeed. I ask that You save me and set me free from sin and evil. Help me to live justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with You all my days, O Lord my God and my Redeemer. Amen.
Jesus is calling you, ‘’Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.’’ -Isaiah 1:18
God bless you!
