Waiting For The Appointed Time

This prayer highlights the Reliability of God’s Calendar. Habakkuk 2:3 is one of the most comforting verses in scripture because it promises that God’s visions have an expiration date on their “tarrying.” Our prayer captures the necessity of revelation. Without a clear vision, we wander; but with a “plain” vision, we can run. You are asking for more than just information; you are asking for the spiritual stamina to stay the course until the “end” when the vision speaks. It is a prayer that moves from the hidden (secret schemes) to the manifest (heaven’s wonders).

Let’s Pray

O God of Heaven, Father of Light, I thank You for the gift of vision and insight. I ask You to make Your plans plain to me, as it is written in (Jeremiah 29:11). Grant me immediate understanding of the times we live in and the events to unfold. Break the power of confusion and dispel every spirit of doubt. Shine Your light on the enemy’s secret schemes so that nothing catches me off guard. Lord, I have seen the dreams and heard the prophecies. I ask that You do not delay their fulfillment. For Your word says, ‘’Where there is no vision, the people perish:’’ Proverbs 29:18. I stand on Your promise that the vision will not lie; it will speak at the appointed time. Though it may seem to tarry, I will wait with expectant hope, knowing that Your Word surely comes to pass. Your messages are true, O Lord. Enlighten the eyes of my understanding. Pour out Your Spirit upon my household as You promised—that we may see visions and dream dreams that reflect Your majestic beauty. Give me the grace to run with the revelation You have given me, keeping my pace steady until every promise is fulfilled. Let us witness heaven’s wonders unfold on earth in our lifetime. Satisfy us with long life and let us behold the future You have prepared. Magnify Your great name through the reality of Your fulfilled Word. In the marvelous name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen

“Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.’’ ‭‭
