Whom shall I trust or fear?
The Lord who handles my case will take up my cause,
for in Him alone I seek help;
The Lord is my refuge and Savior.
On the day of trouble, I will cry out to my God,
for who else can rescue and deliver us from the darkest cave,
but the Lord who is our avenger?
I will not rely on my strength,
nor place confidence in man’s ways or knowledge,
and I will not confide in their security.
Who is the man I should trust or place my faith in?
Who claims to be lord over others that I should fear him?
Only God will I fear, for I refuse to be afraid of man.
For man is not God, and in God alone will I find rest and courage.
Who formed man, if not our Lord?
Can a man create his own ribs or give life to himself?
Who made man the chief judge?
What power does man possess to boast of his strength and ability?
Who granted men the authority to rule over all other creatures, if not God?
What shall we say to these things?
If God is for us, who can stand against us?
Who can recount how the foundation of the earth was created?
Who can explain how birds fly in the sky or how life began?
Who brings answers to the one seeking the meaning of life?
Who reveals wisdom and discloses hidden truths, if not God?
He alone holds the answers, the Creator of all.
So now, who is man that God should be so mindful of him,
when few are truly mindful of the things of God?
Thank God that made man and crowned him with glory and honor.
