Wildfires in South Korea kill 24

Historically unprecedented wildfires being carried forward by fast-winds, ravaged 42,000 acres of land in the south-east part of the nation of South Korea. 24 people, mostly over 60 years, have been reported to have lost their lives in these fires – with 12 more admitted in hospitals with critical burn injuries. The fire which is the third-largest in terms of land area in the nation’s history, started last Friday-afternoon, and has been spreading too rapidly for the firefighters to contain it successfully. More than 23,000 people have since fled their homes and more than 1000 firefighters and 5000 military-men have been tasked in containing the fires.

Let’s Pray:

Father, we ask and pray for the comfort of the broken-hearted. We pray for miraculous healing by the power of Your grace for the injured. We plead Your divine protection over all those involved in containing the fires and for their safe-return back home. We pray in faith like Elijah did, for the skies to be opened and rain to be sent that would quench these ravaging fires. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain
and the earth produced its fruit.

James 5:17-18
