“Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book, they all were written, the days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!”
Psalm 139:16-17
Each one of us is unique; we inherited different things from our parents, we are brought up differently, we go to different schools, have different friends. We learn different things, work in different places, live in different cities or countries with different cultures etc. None of these happened by mistake; God has designed and hand-picked each experience, and circumstance You have been through to make you… you! This is what fully equips you to do His will for your life. He has specific purposes for which He made you as you are, not only your past or current you, but also your future you. He has prepared good works for you that only you can accomplish. Amazing, isn’t it? Do not waste your time trying to comprehend how He did it so perfectly, just give Him thanks.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10
Let’s pray:
God, how marvelous are Your thoughts; I cannot comprehend them, but I just want to give You thanks for everything that You have done in my life. Thank You for equipping me with everything I need: my personality, characters, gifts, experiences. Thank You for shaping me to be who I was and who I am now. Thank You for turning all the enemy meant for evil in my life into good, to serve Your purpose and make me stronger. I know that You haven’t finished with me yet, that You want to continue molding me according to Your will, and I am eager to see where and through what You will lead me. Thank You for the good works that You have prepared for me to do. I can only stand in awe of You and give You all the glory and honor. Continue to shape and use me, O Lord, however You like. In Jesus’ name, amen.
