Day 24: Choosing us first

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”

John 15: 16

Have you ever felt the joy of being picked first for a team sport at school? Being chosen gives us validation. It makes us feel secure about our capabilities and can even boast our performances. Well, the good news is that the God of the universe has chosen You! Yes, the same God who chose Abraham and His descendants to bless the world, and He who called the twelve apostles. There is no justification for His choice, no reasoning as to why He would choose you, except that He loves You. Therefore, our validation is not in ourselves but rather in His love with which He loved us first (I John 4:19). Our security is in knowing His mercies and grace, and our boast is in Christ. Here is a thought: the plans that God has for your life are yours because He knew you would be the best choice to walk and fulfill it for His glory. He has called you by your name to live in His will, so step up and answer the call today!

Let’s pray:
Lord, thank You for choosing me before the foundations of the earth. Thank You for appointing me for a time like this. Thank You for the plans You have laid ahead of me for Your glory, Jesus. Thank You for my boast which is in You. Accomplish, I pray, great and mighty things through my life, these works that You have chosen me for. In Jesus name, amen.
