Day 25: Gift of Holy Spirit

“Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Acts 2:38-39

Have you ever formatted your phone or computer memory? If you have, you know that the entire memory’s content will be gone, and your memory will be as empty as a brand new one. Similarly, when we repent, decide to follow Jesus, and be baptized, all our sins are washed away, and we are made into a new creation in Christ. In this new life, it is no longer us who live, but the Holy Spirit, who lives in us. Think about it: The Spirit who created heaven and earth and who raised Jesus from the dead, dwells in us. With such unlimited power and capacity, how can we not thank Him for this precious Gift?

“And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

Romans 8:10-11

Let’s pray:
Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me the gift of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, thank You for dwelling in me. Because of You I can cry out: Abba, Father, as a child of God. Thank You for living in me and being the seal of all promises of God to me. Thank You for not giving me a spirit of fear, but of Your unlimited power, love, and sound mind. I give You all the thanks and glory. Feel free to do whatever You like in me and through me, Holy Spirit, I am Yours. Amen.
