Israeli Airstrikes Kill and Displace Civilians in Southern Lebanon

On April 28, 2026, Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that Israeli airstrikes on several towns in southern Lebanon killed at least four people and injured 51 others, including women and children, as bombardment continued along the border area. Local media said strikes hit Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district and other nearby villages, while artillery shelling and explosions were also reported in Nabatieh and additional southern localities. Since the escalation of hostilities in early March, more than 2,520 people have been killed, over 7,800 injured, and more than 1.6 million displaced across Lebanon by ongoing Israeli attacks, according to official Lebanese figures cited by the Health Ministry.

Let’s Pray:

Lord Jesus, we lift up the people of southern Lebanon who are living under the constant threat of airstrikes and shelling, especially the families in Majdal Zoun, Tyre district, Nabatieh, and surrounding villages. You see every home shattered by explosions, every child jolted awake by the sound of jets overhead, and every parent wondering where they can keep their family safe—have mercy on them, O God. Stretch out Your hand to protect civilians from further strikes; shield hospitals, schools, shelters, and homes, and comfort those who are grieving loved ones or caring for the injured. Grant wisdom, courage, and integrity to local leaders, medical staff, humanitarian workers, and church communities as they organize evacuations, provide medical care, and distribute food, water, and shelter to the displaced. We ask that You restrain the hands of those who fire missiles and drop bombs, open doors for de‑escalation and ceasefire, and move hearts on all sides toward repentance, justice, and a genuine desire for peace. May Your church in Lebanon shine as a beacon of hope and reconciliation in the midst of fear and hatred, pointing many to You, the Prince of Peace, who alone can heal wounds and rebuild lives. In Your mighty name, Jesus, Amen.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Psalm 147:3 NKJV
