Mighty Warrior

Psalm of the Mighty Warrior

I
Behold, as a parched and thirsty land, my soul longs for You, O Lord;
”Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother:
My soul is even as a weaned child, O God.”
You are the harmony of my heart and the armor I wear against the fiercest foe;
Let me sit at Your footstool that I might gain wisdom and add to my understanding within Your holy palaces.

II
Thank You, O Lord, for meeting me precisely where I was;
Long before I could return to You, You touched and transformed my heart.
The Lord who prevails over adversaries delivers you from the troubled waters;
He is my Champion and my Victory, therefore I shall never be defeated.

III
The Lord is my Watchman and my Conqueror; therefore I shall not fail;
He is the sole Foundation of my life, the Rock upon which I walk securely.
Though the ground beneath me grows slippery, my feet shall not slip;
The Lord is my Health and my Healer, therefore sickness has no grip on me.

IV
In His hand, the Lord holds my future, and my present is completely before His eyes;
Therefore, I will cast away all fear, for my tomorrow is perfectly secure.
Like the sons of Issachar, the Lord gives me understanding of the times;
My labor is never in vain, for He establishes the work of my hands.

V
Behold, the Lord is strong and mighty. For the Lord is the great God, and the great King above all gods;
His glorious kingdom exceeds all earthly thrones, now and forevermore. Amen.

The Heart of the Psalm: “Total dependence brings absolute security.”

This psalm beautifully balances the vulnerability of a resting child with the fierce assurance of a victorious warrior. It reminds us that our strength doesn’t come from striving, but from sitting at the feet of the Father. When you allow Him to be your foundation, the slippery ground of life loses its power to make you fall.

Because He met you where you were and transformed your heart, your future is no longer a question mark—it is a guarantee. Walk through your day knowing that the Great King who sits above every throne is personally watching over your steps, ensuring your labor is never in vain.
