Syria: Intense Fighting Resumes in Aleppo After Ceasefire Collapses

Intense fighting has erupted in Aleppo, Syria, after the ceasefire between Syrian government forces and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters collapsed. At least 162,000 people have fled the fighting in the city’s Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods. The military and Kurdish-led SDF are clashing over control of the city, with both sides accusing each other of violating an agreement that was meant to integrate SDF fighters into the Syrian state.

Let’s Pray:

Lord, we bring before You the people of Syria caught in renewed violence and conflict. Protect the 162,000 displaced families, especially the vulnerable – children, women, and the elderly. Grant wisdom to leaders and international mediators to restore the ceasefire and bring lasting peace. Heal the wounded, comfort those who have lost loved ones, and restore stability to Aleppo and all of Syria. Guide diplomatic efforts toward unity and reconciliation. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

Matthew 5:9
